How to use it
- Replace the examples with your measurements or exact product coverage.
- Choose the unit beside each input. Changing the unit converts the existing value.
- Choose any allowance deliberately, calculate, and check the purchase units.
Formula
Required area = net area × (1 + extra/100). Purchase units = round up(required area ÷ coverage per unit).
Worked example
20 m² with 10% extra = 22 m²; at 2 m² per purchase unit, buy 11 units.
Common mistakes and limits
Area estimate only. Layout, offcuts and product-specific installation rules may require more; measure openings yourself.
Do not add allowance twice. Example coverage, density and prices are illustrative, not a specification for your project.
Frequently asked questions
What coverage should I enter per sheet?
Use the labelled area covered by the whole sheet that you buy, rather than one piece if the pack contains several.
Does an area count optimize the cutting layout?
No. It rounds the allowance-adjusted area to whole purchase units. Check the actual layout with your installer.
Are my measurements sent to a server?
These calculations run in your browser. This calculator does not send the input values to our server. Normal page requests can still appear in hosting logs.
