Supplier pack cost comparison
A cheaper pack is not always a cheaper order. Compare whole-pack counts, surplus, delivery and optional tax for the same required quantity.
Worked example
For 22 m², Supplier A at 2 m² per pack needs 11 packs. At £25 each, that is £275 before delivery or tax. Supplier B at 2.4 m² per pack needs 10 packs; at £27 each, that is £270 and supplies 24 m². The larger unit price can still produce the lower order total.
Check before comparing
Use comparable specifications and one measurement unit. Include your allowance in the required quantity once. Enter tax as zero if prices already include it. Quality, delivery access, batch availability and return terms require separate checks.
Formula
Packs = round up(required quantity ÷ pack coverage). Subtotal = packs × pack price + delivery. Total = subtotal × (1 + entered tax ÷ 100).
